Our passion is delivering training that is innovative, relevant & useful. We have run sessions all over Victoria as well as speaking at conferences and events across Australia. We love our Regional training and visiting our country friends, if you want us to visit your area please let us know.

Although we only advertise our public training sessions, we are frequently visiting individual agencies and corporate offices.

The New World of Property Management
4 Hour Session | Maximum class of 15 | This can be delivered online via Zoom or In-House (minimum Half day rate will apply)

In the last few years Property Management has gone through some massive changes. Starting with the changes to the legislation and regulations and then COVID-19 being thrown into the mix as well. As a result the way we deal with clients and manage our properties has changed. This session will guide you through how to effectively manage tenancies and your clients in today’s climate.

We will work through the life cycle of a tenancy and look at ways we can improve our technology, documentation, compliance, risk management and service to our clients.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Look at some of the major areas of change in the Residential Tenancies Act and the Regulations
  • Look at compliance obligations with minimum standards, disclosure statements, safety checks & how to ensure you follow correct processes and educate your clients along the way
  • Run through the life cycle of a tenancy and highlight risks and areas of improvement
  • Learn how to correctly set up a RRP & Renter file
  • Discuss what areas agencies usually do not do well which can pose a huge risk to the OIEC

The New World of VCAT
4 Hour Session | Maximum class of 15 | This can be delivered online via Zoom or In-House (minimum Half day rate will apply)

Property Management has changed significantly in the last few years and as a result so has VCAT. This brand-new session will run across various locations in 2023 and it will assist PM’s to have a more thorough understanding of VCAT and the way it works in today’s Property Management climate. Property Managers do need to have extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, the Regulations and VCAT to effectively manage properties. This session will give you the education and information to be across the changes and how this has affected VCAT determinations & outcomes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Gain a solid understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and the Regulations
  • Learn how to correctly serve notices & apply for hearings
  • Suggested wording for notices & applications will be given to each attendee
  • Learn about documentation and what is required for each notice

 Mould & Maintenance
2 Hour Session | This can be delivered online via Zoom or In-House (minimum Half day rate will apply)

As property managers we have a responsibility to ensure the properties under our management are safe, secure and well maintained. Maintenance of properties is important, and it is one area of Property Management that often goes horribly wrong. With the changes to the RTA mould is now included in the legislation and Property Managers need to have a thorough understanding of how to deal with mould and the relationship with the Renters.

 VCAT Training – Notice to Vacate & Arrears Management (via Zoom)
1 Hour Session | This can be delivered online via Zoom only

In this one-hour training session, we will delve into two crucial aspects of property management: VCAT notices and arrears management. By the end of this session, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate VCAT notices effectively and manage arrears professionally.

We’ll start by exploring VCAT notices, focusing on understanding what VCAT is, the various types of notices to vacate, the legal grounds for issuing such notices, the required documentation for each notice, the correct summary of proofs, and the required notice periods. We will also delve into the proper procedures for serving notices to renters and discuss renters rights and responsibilities.

Next, we’ll transition to arrears management, beginning with an explanation of what arrears are and why they are important to address promptly. We will then explore proactive strategies and best practices for preventing arrears, emphasizing the significance of effective communication with renters when arrears occur. Legal procedures for addressing arrears will be covered, along with an overview of how VCAT plays a role in arrears resolution.

We will also discuss the reasonable and proportionate test and will include some suggested wording for some common notices and applications.

Throughout the training, participants will need to have their cameras and microphones on and are encouraged to ask questions and actively engage in discussions to ensure a thorough understanding of these critical property management topics. By the end of this session, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to handle VCAT notices and arrears management confidently in your property management responsibilities.
